    Hi Magda Oosthuizen,

I understand that the telkomsa.net address worked for many years, but messages to Gmail are now being rejected even though the mailbox remains accessible.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot change Telkom or Mweb mail-server authentication records.

The 550-5.7.26 response shows that Gmail cannot authenticate the message: DKIM did not pass, and the Mweb sending IP is not authorized by the SPF record for telkomsa.net. This is not something that can be corrected within Outlook because SPF and DKIM are configured by the email-domain or outgoing-mail provider.

Please contact Telkom’s email support and provide the complete rejection notice. Ask Telkom to confirm:

    1. The correct authenticated SMTP server for a telkomsa.net mailbox.
    2. The required SMTP port, encryption type, username format, and whether outgoing-server authentication is required.
    3. Whether the Mweb outgoing server is authorized to send as telkomsa.net, and whether Telkom needs to correct the domain’s SPF or DKIM configuration.

If Telkom confirms the settings, they can be checked in classic Outlook through Control Panel > Mail > Email Accounts > select the account > Change > More Settings. Microsoft’s instructions are available here: Change or update email account settings in Outlook for Windows.

If messages sent directly from Telkom webmail reach Gmail successfully, that further indicates the problem is with the outgoing-server route used in Outlook rather than with the Outlook application itself.

I hope Telkom can confirm the correct authenticated outgoing server so you can continue using your existing address.
