2026-07-24T09:56:54.5066667+00:00 Hi, thanks for your help. I'm an x-IBM system engineer and this ones got me foxed. Other peole have reported this but there doesn't seem to be an answer! I suspect Win 11 has broken it but I will try installing money on another PC and see if I get the same problem.

2026-07-24T10:27:00.2566667+00:00 OK, tried on a more or less identical Win 11 PC and problem persists. So it looks like a Win 11 problem. I know Money Sunset is old but it must be a simple fix in Windows. There are a lot of users out there as there are no programs as good as Microsoft Money, t stills does a good job.

Press Windows+R keys on the keyboard, or Right-click Start on the Taskbar and choose Run.
Type mmsys.cpl
Press Enter.
Right-click your Speaker and choose Test.

Sunset isn't supported in Windows 11, so it might have been broken due to new updates.
In Money,> Go to Tools > Settings > Program settings > Sounds > Play sounds. Is this setting checked?
Enable it and verify.
