Description

Hello Microsoft Support,

I am reporting a SharePoint Online and OneDrive issue affecting my Microsoft 365 Developer tenant.

The subscription is active, has been automatically renewed successfully, and all Microsoft 365 administrative services appear to be functioning normally. However, SharePoint Online and OneDrive are unavailable.

Based on the symptoms, I believe this may be a SharePoint Online backend provisioning or tenant registration issue rather than a client-side or licensing configuration issue.

License

Microsoft 365 E5 Developer

Subscription status

Active

Renewal

Automatically renewed in June 2026

Issue Description

The Microsoft 365 subscription is active and the assigned Microsoft 365 E5 Developer license is valid.

The Microsoft 365 Admin Center is accessible.

Azure AD authentication works normally.

Users can sign in successfully.

Billing status is healthy.

License synchronization completes successfully.

However, SharePoint Online and OneDrive are unavailable.

Current Symptoms

The following SharePoint Online endpoints cannot be accessed:

Observed errors include:

  • DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
  • ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

OneDrive cannot be opened.

SharePoint sites cannot be opened.

The SharePoint service inside the assigned license remains disabled even after the license status refreshes successfully.

Verification Already Performed

The following items have already been verified:

  • Microsoft 365 subscription is active.
  • Subscription renewal completed successfully.
  • Automatic renewal confirmation email was received in June 2026.
  • More than one month has passed since renewal.
  • License assignment is successful.
  • Azure AD authentication is working.
  • Microsoft 365 Admin Center is accessible.
  • Billing status is healthy.
  • User status is healthy.
  • Domain status is healthy.
  • The issue persists across different browsers and environments.

Tenant History

The tenant was originally created with the default domain:

[Moderator note: personal info removed]

Later, an additional onmicrosoft.com domain [Moderator note: personal info removed]) was added for user sign-in.

I understand that adding a new onmicrosoft.com domain does not rename the SharePoint Online tenant URL.

However, none of the expected SharePoint Online endpoints appear to exist or resolve correctly.

Service Health

The Microsoft 365 Admin Center currently reports two SharePoint-related advisories.

However, the published advisory only mentions Search Schema Mapping degradation and does not describe tenant-wide SharePoint Online or OneDrive failures.

Therefore, I believe this issue is unrelated to the current published advisory.

Request

Could you please investigate the backend status of this tenant and verify whether SharePoint Online has been provisioned correctly?

Specifically, could you please verify:

  • SharePoint Online tenant provisioning status
  • SharePoint Online service registration
  • SharePoint tenant availability
  • OneDrive provisioning status
  • SharePoint DNS registration
  • SharePoint service activation status for this tenant
  • Whether backend SharePoint provisioning needs to be re-triggered

Based on the observed behavior, this appears to be a SharePoint Online provisioning or backend tenant registration issue rather than a client-side configuration problem.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Q&A forum is a public platform, and moderators will modify the question to hide personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

I would like to first clarify that this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Moderators here are not Microsoft Support, so we don’t have backend access or the ability to perform escalations. However, we’re happy to help with troubleshooting guidance and best‑practice recommendations.

Hi @word count

Thank you for providing the detailed information and screenshots. Based on your description, this does not look like a typical browser, client cache, or user permission issue. The important symptom is that the expected tenant-level SharePoint Online endpoints do not appear to resolve correctly and return errors. Normally, SharePoint and OneDrive URLs are based on the tenant’s original domain created when the Microsoft 365 tenant was first set up. Since you have already verified that:

  • The Microsoft 365 E5 Developer subscription is active
  • The license assignment is successful
  • Microsoft 365 admin center is accessible
  • Azure AD / Entra ID authentication is working
  • Billing and domain status are healthy
  • The issue persists across browsers and environments
  • More than 24 hours have passed after renewal and license refresh

this may require Microsoft backend validation of the SharePoint Online service registration and provisioning state for the tenant. As a next step, I recommend that a Microsoft 365 administrator open a Microsoft 365 support request from the Microsoft 365 admin center and include the details.

Thank you for your patience.
