How to get rid of this red notification badge on iPad?

I recently started trying Edge on both my iPhone and iPad but I'm running into a weird issue on both of them. I always see this red badge on the menu icon to the right, but when I tap on it, it doesn't show me where the notification is coming from. When I reload the tab, the badge comes back up again. Is there something missing that I'm not seeing or is this a bug? IMG_1673.jpeg

Hi Prasoon S,

Thank you for providing the screenshot. Based on what I can see, the red badge appears on the Edge menu button, which usually indicates that Edge has a notification or item that requires attention. However, if tapping the menu does not reveal any notification and the badge reappears after refreshing the page, it may be related to a stuck notification, a sync-related alert or an issue within the app itself.

If you're signed in to Edge, please tap Menu > Profile and check whether there are any messages related to your Microsoft account or Sync. I also recommend confirming that Edge is updated to the latest version available from the App Store.

On your iPad, you can also try force-closing Edge from the App Switcher and reopening it. Additionally, go to Edge > Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear Browsing Data and clear cached images and files to see if the badge is being caused by cached data.

To help narrow down the cause, could you let me know:

  • Are you signed in with the same Microsoft account on both the iPhone and iPad?
  • Does the red badge appear on all websites or only on specific pages?
  • Are you also signed in to Edge on a Windows PC or another device with the same Microsoft account? If so, do you see any notifications, sync warnings or similar badges there?
  • Does the red badge remain visible after restarting the iPad and opening Edge again?

If the badge continues to appear after these checks, this may be an issue within the Edge for iOS/iPadOS app itself and I can help gather some additional details for further investigation.
