    Hi McCarthy, Tom,

You can add a task without leaving your Inbox in new Outlook:

    1. Select My Day on the toolbar at the top.
    2. Select the To Do tab.
    3. Then use either option:
      • To create a task from an email, drag the email from the message list into the To Do pane.
      • To create a separate task, select Add a task, enter the task name, and press Enter.

You can then select the task to add a due date, reminder, or other details.

For reference, see Use My Day with To Do in Outlook and Drag a message to create a task.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors do not have access to individual accounts or settings.

I hope this helps you add the item to your task list quickly.
