As stated in the subject, my game refuses to open no matter what I try. My PC specs are: Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB of ram, RX 5600XT. I've tried every single fix possible or recommended on the steam forums, such as turning off memory integrity in windows settings, trying to launch the game with and without EAC, my drivers are all up to date. I've tried verifying files and even reinstalling the game entirely but no matter what my game refuses to go past the screen with all of the team logos, and just closes automatically. The game was working fine up until a couple of days after season 8 released, i'm guessing around 2-3 days afterwards, as I remember being able to play when the season started, but a couple of days afterwards when trying to open the game, it didn't work. I have also made sure that my gpu is working fine, through benchmarks and updating all of the drivers. I've asked for suport from 2k themselves, and following them I've tried to: clear my game cache, run the game as administrator, run the game on another administrator account on my computer, made sure that there is enough storage for the game to run, running steam as administrator, trying to run it in a clean boot, tried to run DISM and sfc /scannow, however there were some errors (attached). After all this they told me to refer to microsoft support so here I am.Screenshot 2026-07-23 161356

    Hi Minwoo,

Since you've already tried most of the common troubleshooting steps (reinstalling the game, verifying files, updating drivers, clean boot, running as administrator, and SFC), the issue is less likely to be caused by Steam itself.

Your screenshot shows DISM error 0x800F0915, which usually indicates that Windows could not locate the required repair source. Although sfc /scannow completed without finding integrity violations, the DISM error suggests there may still be a problem with the Windows component store.

    I recommend trying the following:

Install all pending Windows updates and restart your PC.

Run: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth again while connected to the internet. If it still fails with the same error, consider performing an in-place repair upgrade of Windows using the latest Windows 11 installation media. This repairs system components without affecting your personal files.

Check Event Viewer (Windows Logs > Application) for any crash entries related to the game or Easy Anti-Cheat.

Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus or overlay software (MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner, Discord overlay, etc.) to rule out conflicts.

If the issue started immediately after the Season 8 update, it may also be a game-specific compatibility issue. Check whether other players are reporting the same behavior and wait for a game patch if necessary.

If you can provide the game's crash log or the Event Viewer error details, the community may be able to identify the exact cause. Hopefully, you'll be back in the game soon!

Hi, sorry I forgot to check this. I redownloaded the game on a different drive, and that seems to have fixed the issue of getting past the logos, however there is still the issue of when I am playing, the game often crashes with the error code '0x887a0006'.

    Hello Minwoo An,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

May I know have had the chance to check on the previous answer yet?

I also would like to know what the Event Viewer have about the game or Easy Anti Cheat. Just want to check, do the issue appears in any other games that requires EAC or do you have any other Anti cheat installed?

    I'm waiting for your reply.
