Search feature for Shared Files does NOT work!

It seems this issue was reported on many previous threads since 2024...... I am unable to search files/folders in Shared Files....... Has it ever been resolved?

Have you tried the workaround adding the shared folder to My files using Shared > select the folder > Add shortcut to My files, and then searching for it from My files?

- Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
- In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
- In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
- Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Technical Support" as the category, and click to confirm
- You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.

2026-07-25T01:39:07.07+00:00 I understand how frustrating this is, especially since similar reports date back to 2024.
Could you confirm whether you use OneDrive Personal or OneDrive for work or school, and whether this occurs on OneDrive web? There is currently no confirmed notice that these specific Shared files search issue has been fully resolved.
In the meantime:
As a workaround, try adding the shared folder as a shortcut under My files, or sync it to your computer and search through File Explorer or Finder. Try the search feature in a different browser or an InPrivate/Incognito window too.
I hope this helps you access the shared files more easily.
