The editing toolbar to select, copy, etc. on my Android phone is in dark mode, sometimes impossible to read. My documents are in light mode. I want the toolbar with the white background as well

Hello Paul Cigno

I understand how difficult that dark selection toolbar can be to read against a light document.

The Select / Copy / Paste pop-up is controlled by Android’s system theme rather than the document background. Word for Android does not currently provide a separate setting for changing only that toolbar.

As a workaround, you should switch your android device to light mode. Here is how to do it:

  1. Open Android Settings.
  2. Select Display.
  3. Set Dark theme to Off, including any scheduled dark mode.
  4. Fully close Word, then reopen it.

I hope switching the system appearance restores a readable toolbar.

Feel free reply back to this post if you need further assistance, I'll be happy to help.

Ok, I'll look into that if there isn't any other work around. Thanks for the quick response
