Stocks Datatype issue

Question

The Stocks Datatype does not resolve the XASX:GOLD name to the correct security, namely, the GLOBAL X PHYSICAL GOLD STRUCTURED ETF listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. How does one fix that?

To correct the security linked to the Stocks data type, right-click the affected cell and select Data Type > Change. In the Data Selector pane, search for the full fund name, Global X Physical Gold Structured, rather than only XASX:GOLD. You can also try searching with the following identifiers:

• Ticker: GOLD
• Exchange: Australian Securities Exchange
• ISIN: AU00000GOLD7

Before selecting the result, please verify that the card shows the correct fund name, ticker, and exchange.

If the correct security does not appear in the Data Selector, the issue is likely with the instrument mapping in Excel’s financial data source rather than with the workbook itself. In that case, there is no setting in Excel that can manually add or repair the Stocks data type record. Please report the incorrect match through Help > Feedback > Report a Problem in Excel and include the expected security details and the security currently being returned.

As a temporary workaround, you may keep the ticker as regular text and retrieve the required market data from another trusted source, for example through Power Query.
