Ive installed word 2024 professional plus and activated the program but cannot sign into my microsoft account

I have been using it ok for the last year and it was connected to my microsoft account on my old laptop but today installed it on a new laptop and only then could I not sign into my microsoft account

It happens that volume licenses successfully activate like that. However, as soon as the activation servers detect that the license is illegitimate, activation will cease to work.

You haven't done anything wrong. The fault is the third-party seller, who shouldn't have sold you a volume license to begin with.

Office Professional plus 2024 is a volume licence version of Office used by large organizations, it is not a consumer licence version of Office, that version of Office may initially activate, but it will deactivate automatically later.

If you are a private home user, the best option is to contact the retailer that sold you the Office licence to get a full refund, they should not be selling that type of Office licence to the general public.
