Setting up future meetings with participants using Teams calendar or Outlook integration
Hi Bart,
Good day, and I hope you're doing well.
I conducted a test on my end and found that if you are not the meeting organizer, you will not be able to edit the meeting details. In Microsoft Teams, only the organizer (or someone with appropriate delegated permissions) can modify the meeting schedule, attendees, and other meeting settings.
Therefore, I would suggest the following:
1/ Verify that you are signed in with the same Microsoft 365 account that originally scheduled the meeting. If Teams does not recognize the signed-in account as the organizer, meeting editing options may not be available.
2/ If you do not see an Edit button, try double-clicking the meeting from your calendar to see whether it opens in the editing window.
3/ Try signing in to Teams on the web and test whether you can edit the meeting there. This can help determine whether the issue is specific to the Teams desktop app on your Mac.
4/ Sign out of Teams completely (click your profile > Sign out), close the application, then sign back in and test again. This may help refresh calendar synchronization.
5/ Try opening the meeting from Outlook and editing it there. Meeting details and options can also be managed through Outlook.
6/ If the issue only affects one meeting, consider creating a new test meeting from your Teams calendar and check whether that meeting can be edited normally. This can help determine whether the issue is related to a specific meeting.
7/ If the issue persists after the above checks, the best next step would be to ask your IT administrator to open a support ticket with Microsoft via the Microsoft 365 admin center. A technical support engineer can then initiate a remote session, review backend settings, and run diagnostics. If needed, they can escalate the case to specialized engineering teams who are well-equipped to perform advanced troubleshooting and provide targeted solutions.
As moderators, our primary goal is to provide helpful guidance and support through general troubleshooting steps. While we don’t have access to internal systems or administrative tools required to resolve account-specific or backend issues, we truly appreciate your understanding of these limitations. We genuinely hope the information we share helps point you in the right direction, and we're always here to assist as much as we can within our scope.
