I purchased Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 for my old laptop. I purchased a new laptop and installed it from my saved installation file. I entered my product key and it will not accept it.

    Hi,

I’d like to clarify that Professional Plus is a volume license edition, which is intended for organizations rather than individual use. These licenses are usually managed by a company and assigned to employees through their IT department.

If the license was purchased from a third-party seller, there is a possibility that it was resold outside of Microsoft’s licensing terms. In such cases, the license may:

    Not activate properly

    Reach its activation limit

    Or stop working unexpectedly

Since these are organization-managed licenses, end users do not have control over activation limits or renewals.

If this license was provided by your organization, I recommend contacting your IT department so they can request an activation limit increase from Microsoft.

This type of license is not intended for individual retail use.

To avoid this issue in the future, I recommend purchasing directly from Microsoft or an authorized retailer to ensure proper activation and full support.

It was purchased quite a while back through the federal employee's home use program.

That is good news. You should be able to reinstall using your work e-mail from the HUP order history at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/workplace-discount-program/order-history .

Note that the license expires if you are no longer with that same employer. See the FAQ at the bottom of the page at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/workplace-discount-program/order-history.

Did you purchase Office Professional Plus 2013 recently? Note that it is a very old product and it is also a volume license version which is intended for organizations, not individuals. You should try to get your money back from the seller.
