I can't login to my azure portal (tenant using personal account for learning purpose) required authenticator that I didn't setup

I can't login to my azure portal to access my personal tenant (@hotmail account). Always ask for authenticator push notification that doesn't match my outlook authenticator setup. I also in entra id the authenticator is disable no other options I can use in login page, please see the attachments. User's image

Hey there, Shady Mohsen Mahmoud

Looking at your last image, you are trying to sign into an admin portal with your personal Microsoft account. You are unable to login to admin portals using your Microsoft account. You have to login to those portals using your work/school account.

If you don't have a work/school account, you should be able to manage Entra ID for Azure through the Microsoft Entra ID blade here: https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_AAD_IAM/ActiveDirectoryMenuBlade/~/Overview

Which looking at your first image, shows the Microsoft Entra ID service in the Azure portal.

Please can you confirm what portal you were trying to sign into?

Can you sign into the Microsoft Entra ID service linked above?

Dear Nathan,

I am currently unable to log in to my Azure Portal or Microsoft Entra ID using my Hotmail account. Each login attempt asks for Microsoft Authenticator approval or a generated code, but the code does not match the Authenticator setup linked to my Outlook/Hotmail account.

At the moment, I only have one valid active session on my work laptop, which allows me to access the Azure Portal. However, I cannot start a new session from my personal laptop, mobile browser, or even another browser on my work laptop.

Could you please advise on the best way to resolve this? Specifically, I would appreciate your support to either:

Reset or remove the current Microsoft Authenticator method, so I can re-register it properly.

Add SMS OTP as an additional authentication method.

Guide me through any required steps while I still have access through the active session on my work laptop.

Lets use this to try and help us.

On your work computer, please can you navigate to the users part on the Microsoft Entra ID blade here: https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_AAD_UsersAndTenants/UserManagementMenuBlade/~/AllUsers

Once you are here, please can you click onto "New user" from the top menu

Then select "Create new user" for your tenant.

You will want to go through creating a new user by entering the required information such as email address, display name and password. After this, please click onto the "Assignments" tab on the top for the new user account.

Then click onto add role to assign them administrator roles. You want to assign them the global administrator role which allows them to manage all aspects of Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft services that uses Microsoft Entra identities.

After this, please click onto review and create to create the account. Once you have done this, please go to your other laptop and open an InPrivate browsing session to check if you can sign into your new profile and access Microsoft Entra ID and manage users.

If you are able to, we can then try and troubleshoot further with your personal account. This step just prevents you from being locked out from your tenant.
