"Hello, I purchased a laptop four years ago that came bundled with a pre-activated Microsoft Office subscription. I lost the original email ID that was used to claim it. I have successfully extracted my hardware DPK (Digital Product Key) directly from my system motherboard using the Command Prompt. The key is [Moderator note: PII removed] . Could you please search your activation databases to look up the email account tied to this specific key?"

    Hi Harshit Bhadouriya,

I understand that you no longer have access to the email address that was originally used to redeem the Office subscription bundled with your laptop.

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

If the Office license was redeemed to a Microsoft account, the license is generally tied to that account rather than the device itself. Microsoft's guidance is that Microsoft 365 and newer Office products are associated with the Microsoft account used during redemption and activation.

If you are trying to identify the correct account, you can:

1, Check any email accounts you may have used at the time of purchase for Microsoft/Office confirmation emails.

2, Sign in to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page with any Microsoft accounts you may have used and check whether the Office license appears there.

3, If you cannot determine which account was used, contact Microsoft Support directly for account-specific assistance:

Please kindly note that this is a public community forum, I do not have the ability, tools to unblock, recover accounts or bypass security. Only Microsoft’s official recovery process can restore access.

    • Visit  Contact Us - Microsoft Support

    • On the Category tab, choose the appropriate category or an alternative option.
    • Go to  Confirm.
    • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours) if available. Explain your situation clearly.

Please note that support agents may ask for proof of purchase or other ownership information, but they cannot disclose account details through the public forum.
