message 0x000006ba, print spooler service not running

Question

Hi, my brother printer has suddenly stopped printing,

I just keep getting the message 0x000006ba, print spooler service not running.

I have unplugged it and plugged it back in and its screen shows it is connected to the internet. All inks are ok

MFC-J470DW is the model, never had any problems till now

This is happening due to a misconfiguration of the print spooler, and to fix the problem, kindly follow the steps below:

We need to refresh the print spooler folder:

1. Press Windows Key + R and type services.msc
2. Look for Print Spooler and click on Stop Service
3. Press Windows Key + R and type spool
4. Open the spool folder and click Continue on the prompt
5. Go to drivers > x64 and look for the "3" folder
6. Rename the 3 folder to 3.old
7. Start the Print Spooler service in services.msc

Restart the PC and check.

Note: If the issue persists, try to remove all printer applications and reinstall the printer driver.

To remove the printer applications:

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners
2. Select your printer and click Remove
3. Press Windows Key + R and type appwiz.cpl then hit OK to open Programs and Features
4. Look for your printer software that is installed and uninstall it
5. Restart if prompted
6. Then reinstall the driver from here: https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadtop.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=mfcj470dw_us_eu_as
