Office Product Key Registered to Incorrect Email Address

I purchased Office Home & Business 2024 to use on my laptop through my husband's Best Buy account. I didn't realize the product key would be registered to his email address. He doesn't use Office much less a computer. How do I change my product key to the correct email address?

According to the Microsoft Software License Terms, once an Office license is registered to a Microsoft account, it cannot be transferred to a different Microsoft account.

In exceptional cases, Microsoft Office Support may be able to help transfer the license to another Microsoft account; however, this cannot be guaranteed. To get in touch with Microsoft Office Support, go to

2. Type Talk to an agent then click Get Help.
3. At the bottom of the page click Contact Support. Sign in to your Microsoft account if needed. If you face the same issue with the affected account use a different account to contact Microsoft Support.
4. Select Microsoft Office and 365 and then select Activation.
5. Click Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
