365 office not activated on my big sur 11.7.11 version,

i have and Macbook Air, with Bigsur 11.7.1 software version , have installed version of office 16.77 - which as i read shall be compatible with that, but it is not activated, i have bought year subscription for office 365,

so what is the problem, can pls help

If your macOS is below 12, Office products will now enter reduced functionality mode. In other words, the OS is too old to receive the licensing update the Office now requires. Sorry.

If your device cannot update its OS to at least 12, your options will be: Use the web version or an alternative like LibreOffice. And you want to cancel your subscriptions.

If your version of MacOS is Big Sur, then the error you are seeing is caused by an update on the 13th of July, many people are seeing the exact same error, if you are unable to upgrade your MacOS to a newer compatible version, your Office apps will go into Read Only mode, on the link below the full details on that update are provided.
