I keep trying to google things and it wont give me results because it's saying I can't turn off safesearch due to my region. That makes no sense. I haven't had this issue for years, now all of a sudden I can't change it. It doesn't even give me the option.

    Hi,

I will work with you on this. I'm going to run through a few steps with you. Some of these are diagnostic — they help me narrow down what's wrong, not fix it outright. So if nothing changes after a step, that's normal and expected, not a dead end. I'll keep going until we've got this resolved.

Are you on Windows Education Edition?

Have you got a Work account on the Machine?

Any VPN are you using, or a custom DNS?

I look forward to hearing from you to get the results of the troubleshooting.

If the issue is on Bing, SafeSearch can be changed from Bing settings:

    1. Open Bing.com.
    2. Select the icon in the upper-right corner.
    3. Select Settings > More.
    4. Under SafeSearch, choose Strict, Moderate, or Off.
    5. Select Save.

If the problem is happening from Windows Search instead of directly on the Bing site, check the device SafeSearch setting:

    • Windows 10: Start > Settings > Search > Permissions & History
    • Windows 11: Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Search permissions

    Under SafeSearch:

    • Strict forces Bing to respect Strict on that device regardless of the Bing.com setting.
    • Moderate or Off makes Bing search use the Bing SafeSearch setting from the Bing.com Settings page.
