An Azure service that is used to provision Windows and Linux virtual machines.
No immediate resize is required before July 31. Microsoft states that these capacity controls affect new deployments, expansion, and additional quota, not existing running VMs or already approved quota.
Standard_F4s_v2, Standard_D3_v2, and Standard_D4as_v4 are in affected Fsv2, Dv2, and Dasv4 series. Standard_B2als_v2 is Basv2, which is not in the published affected list; verify the exact SKU because B and Bs v1 are affected.
Inventory each VM's region, size, quota, and reservation coverage. Keep production VMs running while you test equivalent v5, v6, or v7 sizes for CPU, memory, disk, networking, image generation, and zone support. Request quota for the chosen target family, then schedule a controlled resize; resizing restarts the VM and may require deallocation.
Existing Reserved VM Instance discounts are not cancelled. However, a new size outside the same instance-size-flexibility group may not use the reservation, so review utilization and exchange or refund options before migration.
