Home Xbox licensing issue (Error 0x803F8001)

I'm experiencing a Home Xbox licensing issue with my Xbox Series X.

Problem

My Xbox Series X is set as my Home Xbox, but other accounts on the console (my son's account) cannot play any Game Pass games unless my account remains signed in.

As soon as I sign out, every Game Pass game closes or shows:

Error 0x803F8001 – "Do you own this game or app?"

If I sign back into my account, my son can immediately launch the same Game Pass games on his own profile.

This affects all Game Pass titles, including:

EA Sports FC 26

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Other Game Pass games

It is not limited to EA Play.

My setup

Xbox Series X

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (Active)

My account is the Game Pass owner.

This console is marked as My Home Xbox.

My son's account is part of my Microsoft family.

What changed

This Series X was originally my Home Xbox.

While travelling, I temporarily changed another Xbox to be my Home Xbox.

After returning home, I switched my Home Xbox back to this Series X.

Since then, Home Xbox sharing has stopped working.

Verified

✅ Game Pass Ultimate subscription is active.

✅ I can launch and play every Game Pass game on my own account.

✅ My Home Xbox is enabled on this Series X.

✅ My son can play Game Pass games only while my account stays signed in.

❌ As soon as my account signs out, every Game Pass game shows 0x803F8001.

Troubleshooting already completed

Restarted console

Power cycled console

Reset console (keeping games and apps)

Re-added my account

Removed and re-enabled Home Xbox

Cleared local Xbox 360 storage

Reinstalled affected Game Pass games

Confirmed Game Pass is active

Confirmed games are still in the Game Pass catalogue

Confirmed games were installed by my account

Confirmed issue affects every Game Pass title

Confirmed this console is still marked as My Home Xbox

Nothing changed.

What I believe

The console behaves as if the Home Xbox entitlement is not being recognised by Microsoft's licensing servers.

The Home Xbox setting appears correct locally, but shared Game Pass licences are only granted while the owner account remains signed in.

Could someone please check my account for a stuck or corrupted Home Xbox/Game Pass entitlement or refresh the backend licensing associated with my Home Xbox?
