Organizing and accessing contact information in Outlook.com
Hi steve pallardy,
I understand how concerning it is to find that your contacts have disappeared, particularly when several email accounts are involved. Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access your accounts or restore contacts directly.
First, please check where the contacts were originally stored. Adding Gmail or TWC email addresses to Outlook.com does not automatically mean their contacts are stored in your Outlook.com account.
- Sign in directly to https://contacts.google.com/ with your Gmail account and check whether the contacts are still listed there.
- Sign in directly to the website provided for each TWC/Spectrum account and check its contacts or address book.
- If you previously used a phone or tablet, check whether the contacts are still available in that device’s Contacts app and which account is shown for them.
If the contacts were saved in Outlook.com, try restoring them as follows:
- Sign in to Outlook.com from a desktop browser.
- Select People from the navigation pane.
- Select Deleted and look for the missing contacts.
- Select the contacts, then choose Restore.
- If they are not in Deleted, select Recover deleted at the top of the page, choose the contacts, and select Restore.
Recovered contacts are returned to their original folder when possible. If that folder no longer exists, they are restored to the default Contacts folder. You can review Restore or recover a deleted contact in Outlook for the applicable Outlook.com steps.
If the contacts were stored in Outlook.com but cannot be found in either location, contact Outlook.com Support through the signed-in account:
- Go to Outlook.com and sign in.
- Select the Help icon, represented by a question mark, in the upper-right corner.
- In the Help pane, search for “email management”, then press Enter.
- Scroll down until you see “Still need help?”, then select Yes.
- Choose “Chat with a support agent in your web browser.”
- Review the issue description and confirm an email address you can access.
- Select Confirm to create the service request. The page should then show that the request has been submitted and connect you to Outlook.com live-chat support.
I hope these steps help you locate or recover your missing contacts.
