2 Day Account Suspension for saying "hello" and complementing people on my friends list

I was on Xbox and I looked at my friends list. I noticed a lot of people that I remember playing with and having a good time with 2-3 years ago. Other were old friends and some were new. I wanted to get back with some of them so we can play again. I decided to message some of the ones that were either online or recently online. I mainly wanted to complement them so the messages I sent to most were "hey", "hello", and "I like your profile picture", mainly so I can spark up a conversation. 15 seconds later when I was messaging another person on my friends list, complementing their profile picture, I received the suspension. I went to appeal it, but I didn't see an appeal option. I am very confused and frustrated as to why this occurred, so I assumed that it was because I was sending messages too fast. If someone can explain to me how and why this happened, it would be greatly appreciated :)

I can understand why that would be confusing and frustrating, especially if the messages you sent were simply greetings or compliments.

FYI, nobody here in the community forum can see the details behind an Xbox enforcement action or determine the exact trigger. In some cases, enforcement systems may look at factors beyond the specific message content, such as messaging patterns, previous reports, account activity, or other signals. Because of that, it's difficult for forum members to confirm whether sending multiple messages in a short period contributed to the suspension.

If there is no appeal option shown on your enforcement page, that usually means the suspension is either not eligible for case review or the review process is not available for that specific enforcement action. Since your screenshot shows a 2-day suspension ending on July 28, 2026, it may be best to wait for the suspension to expire.
