My Yahoo email  is recognised as a work/school account even though it’s personal. Please remove the associated Entra ID identity so I can use it as a personal Microsoft account

Thanks for the assitance, I have been in contact with Microsoft help desk. And they have said that If Microsoft's sign-in page specifically states that your email address is associated with "Konyang University" or directs you to a Konyang University organization during login, then the account association is most likely with that university's Microsoft tenant. In Microsoft , tenant names shown during sign-in are generally derived from the organization that owns the tenant.

Being based in the UK, this is going to be next to impossible to communicate the right message to have my email removed from their organisations tenant.

However I have not been associated with this University and want Microsoft to remove my work/school, but they say they can't, unless I contact the University admin to remove me. Which being based in the UK, is going to be next to impossible.

    Hi R Forrest

In general, this type of association can only be removed in one of the following ways:

If you’re unable to contact the organization or the tenant appears inactive, as noted in this similar situation, backend changes require verification and are handled through official support channels (Cannot close account because of linked organizations - Microsoft Q&A). In this situation, please contact Microsoft support from your personal account and request removal from the tenant (Contact - Microsoft Support )

(Please understand that we're not Microsoft support, this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators have no backend access and cannot directly intervene in Microsoft products. We provide only technical guidance and best-practice recommendations based on reported issues)

I hope this information helps, and if you have any further questions, please feel free to ask via comment section.
