I just got an email that there has been unusual sign-in activity on an hotmail account i don’t remember the name of. How could i get that account address information when i do not remember the address?
Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Hi, @Mihkel
This community forum is public, no one from has have access to your Microsoft account.
Do you remember emailing anyone from that account? They may still have your old address in their inbox or contacts.
You can also try Microsoft’s Forgot username option using any recovery phone number or alternate email address you may have added. Microsoft will only display a partially hidden account address.
Does the security email show any part of the Hotmail address, such as the first letter or several asterisks?
i don’t but i recently got hacked so it is probably been hacked. it showed mi********@hotmail.com
Thank you for letting me know.
Just to confirm:
If you receive any error messages, such as “account doesn’t exist” or anything else, please let me know.

When you try to sign in at https://account.microsoft.com, what exact error message do you see?
it doesn’t show an error message i just can’t seem to find how to get access to the account i don't remember about. I can log into my main account just fine but i don’t remember the account details that got hacked into
Thanks, no one here will ever know the exact account, even Microsoft Support. Do you remember emailing anyone, you family or friends so you could ask them and ultimately know tye exact email address?
There's no way for anyone to know exactly.
One last check: Do you remember signing in to this account on any other devices or Xbox consoles?
i think i did use it on xbox but that was years ago and i have sold it i may have bought something like minecraft from that account too so they could acces my card information
if i got the emails about the account that i dont remember on the account that i know of, do i take their access when i alsotake it from the account that i know of? Like i got messages about both of my accounts on my gmail account that i know of that means they are linked like it showed in the picture i sent. And from the account i do remember i took the access of the computer that i didnt know about (hackers). does that also mean that i took their access from the account i don not remember?
No. Removing the unknown computer from the Microsoft account you remember does not remove it from the old account. Each Microsoft account must be secured separately.
Receiving alerts for both accounts in the same Gmail address only means that Gmail may be registered as the security contact for both accounts. Microsoft allows the same recovery email to be used for more than one account. It does not mean the accounts share the same password or sign-in access.
what do i do then? if i remember correctly i bought something with that microsoft account
You will need to identify the old Hotmail address before the account can be recovered. Microsoft Support cannot reveal the address or change the account without verifying ownership.
how could i do that? Also thanks for your help so far!
Since you no longer have the old Xbox, there may be no other way to identify the account. Microsoft Support cannot disclose an unknown email address without verifying that you own it.
Can you find any old Microsoft, Xbox, or Minecraft receipt in Gmail?
it could be on my fathers laptop but its 1 AM for me and he isn’t awake
You can try later. Let me know when you're ready!
Ok, thanks!
