    Hi @Don Lee ,

    Welcome to our forum!

Do you mean that the pdf attachment file is changed to word file when you receive the email and open the attachment? If so, as I know, the default program to open the pdf file will affect that, it’s suggested that you could try to change the file association for an email attachment.

If the above isn't your case, does this issue occur in Outlook client or Outlook web mail? If it's on Outlook client, what's the version of your Outlook? (File > Office Account > About Outlook). please make sure you have upgraded your Outlook to the latest version.

To further confirm whether the problem is related to the outlook client, please try to log in your web mail and check if the attachment can be received correctly.

And does this issue occur with specific sender? If so, please check the sent attachments in sender's Sent Items folder, have the attachment changed? If it is indeed a pdf file in the sender's sent item, considering the issue is related to the attachment itself, please try to contact and send another pdf attachment and check if there're any differences.

In addition, considering the impact of some security software on your computer, It is suggested that you could try to temporarily turn off your security software to check if the issue will be gone.

If the above doesn't work, please provide more information about your issue for out better research.
