Microsoft recognizes this as a current common issue and has provided instructions to fix. However, the instructions to open the Microsoft AutoUpdate (MAU) From Finder > Applications > Microsoft AutoUpdate don't get there. Then: Note If you don't see MAU, check/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/. However, I can't LIBRARY in my Finder. HELP!

You first need to update Sequoia. Version 15.7.7 is the present release.
I'm not sure where you found instructions pointing you the Applications folder to locate MAU it never has been there because it isn't an application. In either Office program use Help> Check for Updates in order to launch the MAU utility.
