Hello,

My plan has been paid for and is up to date, but I can only see my documents in read only, and can't create new word nor excel docs.

All day i have been unable to activate, getting a message: "An unknown error has occurred. The error code is: 0x0"

Please help. I have work that needs to be saved.

    Hi Sarah Miller,

It appears that you are experiencing a known issue that prevents Office from opening. The good news is that the issue has been resolved. Please refer to the following article for the recommended fix steps: Unknown Error 0x0 or License not found error in Microsoft 365 or Office running on macOS.

One important requirement to note is that your Mac must be running macOS 12 (Monterey) or later. If you are using an earlier version of macOS, please update the operating system first; otherwise, the fix may not work as expected.

You can also find additional information and community feedback in this discussion thread: 0x0 Error After Mac Update July 14th, 2026 - Microsoft Q&A.

If you encounter any difficulties along the way or this is not your case, please feel free to let me know.

    Hello

    Are you running macOS?

If so, please provide the following info:

    What is your macOS version?

Is your office product purchased from Microsoft or from Apple?
