Welcome Valerie Jones-Robinson,
I understand how frustrating it can be when your camera keeps blinking or flashing during Zoom meetings, even after unplugging and reconnecting it.
Please let me know the answers to the two questions of Estrella721 above and whether the camera also flashes in the Windows Camera app. This will help determine whether the issue is related to Windows, the camera hardware, or Zoom itself.
In mean time, please try the step below to troubleshoot the issue:
Option 1: Test the camera outside of Zoom
- Open the Camera app in Windows
- Check whether the image still flashes or blinks
Option 2: Check for conflicting applications
- Close other apps that may use the camera, such as Teams, Discord, OBS, or browser tabs with camera access
- Restart Zoom and test again
Option 3: Update the camera driver
- Open Device Manager
- Expand Cameras
- Right-click the webcam and select Update driver
- Choose Search automatically for drivers
Option 4: Reinstall the camera device
- Open Device Manager
- Right-click the camera and select Uninstall device
- Restart the PC and allow Windows to reinstall the driver
Option 5: Check USB connections if using an external webcam
- Connect the camera to a different USB port
- Avoid USB hubs or adapters temporarily
- Test with a different cable if applicable
Option 6: Verify Zoom video settings
- Open Zoom Settings > Video
- Disable any video enhancement, HD, or hardware acceleration options that may be available
- Test again after making the changes
I hope the steps above help you deal with your issue.
