Older sessions keep popping up.

Hey, so I was trying to unlink my device from Microsoft Account.

The last session was unlinked and it showed no device connected for few minutes and just to make sure I decided to check again.

And this time is showed an older session of the same device (I know this by device name). I already removed it about a week ago so how is still showing under linked device tab. I tried to unlink it again and then it shows another older session.

Now I can't unlink them as I reached device change limit. Is there any way to unlink them properly?

Also can I link my account with the device now? Will it create any issue? I heard sometimes it doesn't show device after fresh installation of windows so I am using local account for now, and a bit skeptical in linking it now.

    Hello User2590,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Regarding your questions about linking your device. Yes, it is generally safe for you to sign in with your account and link your device. It shouldn't block your sign in by any means. Delays may occurs, so if you don't see it right away, it doesn't means that something is broken.

Before we proceed with your stale sign in, may I have a photo of the situation to check for you? Please remember to remove all personal information before posting.

    I'm waiting for your reply.
