Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi @Marleen Viidul ,
First of all, I'm very sorry to hear about the situation you're facing.
Before going further, I'd like to clarify that this is a user-to-user support forum. We are fellow users and moderators, not members of Microsoft's Data Protection or Tenant Recovery teams. Because of that, we cannot create support cases, access tenant information, reset MFA methods, or escalate cases internally on your behalf. However, I'm happy to point you toward the most appropriate recovery path.
I understand from your post that you've already attempted to contact Microsoft Support by phone but were unable to reach a live agent. In that case, it may be worth trying again using a slightly different approach when navigating the automated phone system:
(When you call the support number, you may hear an introduction of about 30 seconds such as "you can visit the link...". You can ignore this introduction and wait until you are presented with the options. Then press "1" as a business email user, and again "1" for technical help.)
In some regions, the initial interaction may be automated, so here’s a general idea of how the conversation might go to help you prepare:
- What kind of problem are you experiencing?
- Answer: Authenticator
- What products do you use?
- Answer: Office 365 for business
- Is this for an education or company account?
- Answer: For companies
- Are you an administrator?
- Answer: Yes
- Are there any other administrators in your organization?
- Answer: No. I am( the only admin in my tenant
- Do you need a... Service request?
- Answer: Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me direct to the Data Protection Teams.
During the phone call, you will need to provide the information associated with your subscription, such as your company name, billing details, phone number, and an alternate email address, etc. This information allows the Data Protection team to verify your identity and securely assist you in regaining access to your administrator account.
If the suggestions above still don't help you create a support case, could you please clarify what you meant when you mentioned: "I created another Microsoft 365 business account to contact support, but I was still unable to open a recovery case for the original tenant." I'd appreciate a bit more detail on that part.
Could you let us know exactly where you became stuck? Any additional details or screenshots (with sensitive information removed) would help us better understand the situation and see whether there might be another path available for you.
If you have any updates, please leave a comment under this post. This is the best way for me to receive notifications and follow up with you promptly.
Thank you so much for your understanding and patience so far.
