Can not save my excel document on an older MacBook

I have an older MacBook and have been using excel for a while and suddenly I can't save my document. I really don't want to rebuild it. What can I do to save it? I've already updated 365 but even that isn't working.

    There are a couple of ongoing problems with the Office apps on an Apple Mac at the moment due to the July 13 update, if you have an older MacBook, most likely this problem is caused by the MacOS version on that laptop.

    At the top left of your Desktop, click the Apple icon and select 'About this Mac', what version of MacOS is installed on your computer?
