Hi! I have an access to the sharepoint of the [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]. I was trying to access it in a place with very bad connection, which resulted in a few attempts in a row. Now, when I am trying to access the website from anywhare I get the "Something went wrong" message. Technical details link does not open. I had multiple IDs and times, but this is the most recent one:

Correlation ID: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]

Date and Time: 7/28/2026 9:51:59 AM

I can still access the portal from my phone, but if I try to open files from the portal in my Mobile Word application it sends me back to login.miscrosoft.com/device. I go there, do every step, insert the code. the desktop approves the access, but the phone just reloads the new code.

IT team of [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] hard to access/.

Best,

Evgeniia

    Hi Evgeniia

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your concern.

I’m sorry you are experiencing this issue, especially after completing the device sign in process several times. The “Something went wrong” message is a general SharePoint error indicating that the access request could not be completed, but it does not identify the exact cause.

To resolve the issue, please follow these steps:

    1. Open a private browser window

Open a private or InPrivate browser window, access the SharePoint site, and sign in with your university work or school account. This helps rule out stored browser data or an existing sign in session.

    1. Contact your IT administrator
    • If the error continues or the mobile sign in process keeps returning to a new device code, contact your organization’s IT administrator and provide the correlation ID and timestamp from the original error message.
    • Ask your organization's IT administrator to open the Microsoft Entra admin center and select Entra ID > Monitoring & health > Sign in logs. They can filter by your account, the relevant date and time, and Failure, then open the failed attempt to review the failure reason and additional details.

    1. Contact Microsoft Support

If your IT admin needs a deeper investigation, the best next step would be to open a support ticket with Microsoft via the admin center. A technical support engineer can then initiate a remote session, review backend settings, and run diagnostics. If needed, they can escalate the case to specialized engineering teams who are well-equipped to perform advanced troubleshooting and provide targeted solutions.
