I purchased Microsoft 365 Personal from Costco. My passkey was delivered via email. After attempting to add the passkey in my Microsoft account, the system is still trying to charge me for the subscription after the free 2-month trial period. However, I have already paid.

Are you saying that the product key / redemption key didn't work? Was it rejected when you tried to enter it at https://setup.office.com or what happened?
I put in the key. The system moves me through the 4 "steps" to set up the subscription. In the final step, the system says I will be charged on Oct 27, 2026 (after the initial 2 free months). But, I bought a year.
We purchased 2 computers and 2 subscriptions. Both redemption keys are doing the same thing across 2 separate accounts - saying I will be charged on Oct 27, 2026. So, I would be double paying
The payments would be in advance. Or are you saying that you have already paid once?
I paid when I purchased the tokens from Costco. So, I have already purchased the software once.
The account should indicate that there is a paid time period of one year, if that is indeed what you paid for.
You will have to contact Microsoft support via https://support.microsoft.com/contactus and possibly also talk to Costco.
Maybe you should get in touch with Costco first to verify what you actually paid for.
