How to Create an Auto-Scored Quiz in Microsoft Forms

1. Sign In & Create a Quiz: Go to forms.office.com and select New Quiz (be sure to select New Quiz, not New Form, to enable points and correct answers).
2. Add Questions & Set Correct Answers:
   • Multiple Choice: Add your question and options. Hover over the correct answer and click the Checkmark icon ($\checkmark$) to set it as correct.
   • Text / Short Answer: Add acceptable correct text answers (spelling/phrasing variations).
   • Math Equations: Turn on the Math feature under question settings to enter equations and numerical answers.
3. Assign Point Values: In the Points field at the bottom of each question, enter the point value (e.g., 1, 5, 10).
4. Automate Feedback (Optional): Hover over options to click the Message icon and add automated feedback/explanations explaining why an answer is right or wrong.
5. Share with Students: Click Collect responses to share the quiz via a link, QR code, or directly inside Microsoft Teams.

• Instant Grading: As soon as a student submits the quiz, Microsoft Forms calculates their total score automatically based on your designated point values and answer keys.
