Microsoft stopped using Credly for certifications in 2024. All certifications are handled and shared from Microsoft Learn

Microsoft officially ended its partnership with Credly for certification badges in mid 2023, and with that new Microsoft certifications are no longer automatically issued to Credly.

This means you can not automatically update your renewed certification on Credly, but you can manually add it as an "Other Badge". The other badge section, however shows unverified badges and certificates, and since Credly no longer verifies Microsoft certificates and badges, the ceritificates will be listed as unverified on Credly. You can get the verified certificate on Microsoft learn.

Microsoft certifications are now managed through Microsoft Learn. This includes all your active certifications, and their proof are managed there. Your renewed certifications should also be visible there, where you can share, view and print from your certification dashboard.

In a Nutshell, there's no way to get a verified renewal on Credly anymore; if you want your renewal recognized with proof, Microsoft Learn is now the only verified source, and any Credly listing will be a secondary, unverified reference.

The previously issued Credly badges for the expired version will not be updated or re-synced.

Since you can still manually add your renewed Microsoft certificate on Credly as "Other Badge" (unverified), here's how you can do that:

    1. On Microsoft Learn

Sign in to your Microsoft Learn account.

Go to your profile and navigate to the "Credentials" section.

Click "view all" to see all your certifications .

Find the one you just renewed and click on "View certification details".

Copy the URL from your browser's address bar.

    2. On Credly

    • Log in to your Credly account.
    • Navigate to your profile and click on "Upload other badges" .
    • Select the "Badge URL" option at the bottom of the screen and paste the URL you copied from Microsoft Learn .
    • Click "Add Badge" and wait for the validation to complete. It can take over an hour for the badge to appear in your profile.

To promote your Microsoft certificate on LinkedIn, follow below:

The main method is to add it to the "Licenses & Certifications" Section, this is the most direct way to add a professional certification to your profile.

    1. Go to your profile: Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage, then select View Profile .

    2. Add the section:

    • Click the Add profile section button (located near your profile picture) .
    • From the Recommended dropdown, select Add licenses & certifications

    3. Fill in the details :

    • Name: Enter the exact name of your Microsoft certification (e.g., "Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate").
    • Issuing Organization: Start typing Microsoft, and select the official organization from the dropdown list so their logo appears next to it .
    • Issue Date: Enter the date you renewed the certification.
    • Expiration Date: If your certification has an expiration date, you can leave this blank or enter it. If it does not expire, check the box for "This credential does not expire" .
    • Credential URL: Paste the shareable link from your Microsoft Learn certification details page. This makes it verifiable

You can also share your achievement as a post on your LinkedIn feed by doing the following:

    • From Microsoft Learn: Go to the "View certification details" page for your cert, select Share, and use the direct option to post it to LinkedIn . This creates a feed post announcing your renewal.
    • From Credly: If your new "Other Badge" is now in Credly, you can also use its built-in Share button to post it to your LinkedIn feed
