Need Microsoft activation team assistance – Windows 11 Pro OEM after motherboard replacement

I have a genuine Windows 11 Pro OEM license. The motherboard failed and was replaced. Windows is no longer activated (0xC004F034). The original OEM key from the COA sticker returns 0xC004F050 and 0xC004C060. I need to contact the Windows Activation team to verify the status of my product key. Could someone point me to the correct support channel?

No such thing as an activation team. A computer with a new motherboard is considered a new computer for the purposes of activation, as the motherboard is the foundation of a computer, and a new computer needs a new license. I'm sorry that this not the answer you were hoping to receive.

I now fully understand Microsoft's licensing policy, even though I respectfully disagree with how it applies in situations like mine.
My intention was never to transfer my Windows licence to another computer. I only wanted to continue using the same computer after replacing a motherboard that failed unexpectedly.

I believe there is an important difference between upgrading a computer and repairing one after a hardware failure. In my opinion, customers in the latter situation should have a reasonable path to reactivate their genuine Windows licence after providing proof of ownership and repair.

I have already submitted my feedback through the Feedback Hub, as my intention is not to challenge the licensing terms but to encourage Microsoft to consider this scenario in future.

As it is OEM the licence was locked to the original motherboard and does not have transfer rights.

You will need to buy a new licence.

Unless the OEM licence you have is from a branded manufacturer (HP, Dell etc.) in which case the licence is embedded in the bios and should be replaced by them.

While I understand Microsoft's OEM licensing policy, I would like to leave some feedback.

I am not trying to transfer Windows to another computer. I am simply trying to continue using the same computer after replacing a failed motherboard.

I believe the current OEM licensing policy unfairly penalizes legitimate customers who have already purchased a genuine Windows licence and have also paid for an expensive hardware repair.

I hope Microsoft will consider introducing a process allowing OEM licences to be reactivated in genuine hardware failure cases, subject to verification of the repair and ownership.

If you want to leave feedback for Microsoft you need to use the Feedback Hub in windows or contact Microsoft support directly through the Get Help app in windows.

The motherboard is a major part of a device that a licence is registered against. As an OEM licence is not supported by Microsoft but by the OEM seller then activation lies with the seller.

If the motherboard is replaced by the original manufacturer under a warranty they should supply a new licence to the user (you) as part of the repair.

If you bought an OEM licence yourself then that is a limitation of the licence and the reason it is cheaper than a retail licence that has transfer rights.

My intention was not to dispute the licensing terms, but rather to highlight that customers who suffer an unexpected motherboard failure may feel unfairly affected by having to purchase a second Windows licence for the same computer.

Unfortunately, I have already followed all the steps in that article.

I ran the Activation Troubleshooter.

The motherboard was replaced because the original one failed.

I still have the original Windows 11 Pro OEM COA sticker.

Entering the original product key returns errors 0xC004F050 and 0xC004C060.

Windows currently reports error 0xC004F034.

At this point, I believe the issue requires verification of the product key on Microsoft's activation servers.

Could you please advise how I can contact the Windows Activation team or escalate this case to someone who can verify the status of my OEM product key?

Start Get Help app on windows and type something like: Windows activation error 0xC004C060
