Something's Wrong With Microsoft Teams

This is De'Andre Holland. I was using Microsoft Teams this morning to do a prayer session with my church, but for some reason I couldn't hear anything through my headphones on my phone, even though I have restarted my phone twice and updated WhatsApp & Teams to hear the group chat better. Is there a way to fix this issue using what I already have on my phone so that this issue doesn't happen anymore?

    Hi Deandre Holland

    Please try the steps below:

    1) Check whether Teams is using the correct audio output

During the Teams call, check the audio or speaker option and make sure the headphones are selected, not the phone speaker. If you cannot hear others, the issue may be with the speaker or output device, and you should check that the correct speaker is selected in Teams.

    2) Reconnect the headphones before opening Teams

Disconnect the headphones, connect them again, then open Teams and join the call.

    If they are Bluetooth headphones:

    • Make sure they are charged.
    • Make sure they are not connected to another phone, tablet, or computer.
    • Turn Bluetooth off and on again if needed.

    3) Check phone permissions for Teams

On the phone, open the app permissions for Teams and make sure microphone permission is allowed. For iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and make sure the Microsoft Teams toggle is turned on.

    4) Try one call without headphones

Join a short test call or meeting using only the phone speaker.

    • If the phone speaker works, the issue is likely with the headset connection or audio routing.
    • If the phone speaker also does not work, the issue may be with Teams, the phone audio settings, or the meeting audio connection.

    5) Try Teams in a browser as a temporary workaround

If the Teams mobile app still has no sound, open the meeting link in a supported browser and allow microphone/audio permissions when prompted.

    6) Keep Teams updated

Make sure Teams is updated to the latest version. Use the latest version of Teams.

If the issue continues, please reply with only these details:

    • Is the phone Android or iPhone?
    • Are the headphones Bluetooth or wired?
    • Does sound work through the phone speaker when the headphones are not connected?
    • Do the same headphones work for normal phone calls or music?

Please tell me how it goes. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread and I will be happy to help. Have a lovely day!
