my camera is not working

when i go to settings to check the camera settingd in bluetooth and devices my connected camera hp wide vision hd camera when i click on that the next page doesnt open meaning its slide back to the same page hence i am not able to figure out what the problem i went to a store and they say its an hardware problem but i feelthat its not because the camera works for a minute sec the light flicks too but i somehow feel that something is stopping it from getting on can you help me with this i have hp victus 15
