My personal Microsoft account is being treated as a work/school account.

Password reset redirects me to my profile instead of completing. I need the organizational identity removed from Azure so my personal account can reset normally.

I have updated the tags so it has the Entra ID tag applied. So that I can help you with your question, please can you answer the following questions:

How did you remove your Azure account?

Can you sign into your account on the Microsoft account overview page here: https://account.microsoft.com/profile

What are you trying to sign into, when it redirects you to your profile?

In terms of Azure. When signing up for Azure using a Microsoft account, it does allow you to do this, but doesn't change the identity to a work/school account. What Azure does in the background is creates a tenant, using your Microsoft personal account, and applies the subscription to your tenant. This tenant is required because Azure resources, RBAC, billing roles, and identity management all depend on Entra ID. Please be aware that removing the Azure subscription does not delete the Entra ID tenant automatically. You would have to delete the tenant.

Your personal Microsoft account is then invited into that tenant as its first user, and a billing profile is created. Even though your personal Microsoft account is added, and it still authenticates with the Microsoft account sign-in workflow using your outlook.com, hotmail.com etc... email address.

So really, your account shouldn't have changed to a work/school account.
