My mouse quit working,

Question

I am unable to locate it in any of the lists. It isn't in device manager nor elsewhere. It just isn't seen at all. I've restarted the computer, changed batteries, etc. What am I missing?

In the Device Manager, it should be under Mice and other pointing devices.

Do you have a wired mouse you can test?

When was the last time it worked fine?
