One Driver Personal Vault

I can access my onedrive, no problem. The issue is with my personal vault. I can open it, but need to refresh the screen a few times to see the files in it. The bigger issue is I can't open any of my files. I get a screen telling me I can't access this file because the action I am performing is blocked by "the organization". I can view it using my mobile but not my Mac. I've tried Chrome and Safari. Does anyone have a solution?

    Dear Mark Lee,

If I understand correctly, you can unlock Personal Vault on your Mac after refreshing several times, but opening any file gives an “action blocked by your organization” message. The same files open normally on your phone, so the files themselves are likely fine, and the issue appears limited to the browser session on your Mac.

Note that Personal Vault can't be accessed directly from the OneDrive app on macOS. You'll need to access it through OneDrive on the web using a supported browser.

See: Protect your OneDrive files in Personal Vault.

    I recommend trying the following:

    1. Copy any urgently needed files out of Personal Vault using the mobile app as a temporary precaution.
    2. Update macOS and your browser, then open OneDrive in an InPrivate or Incognito window.
    3. Sign out of all Microsoft accounts in the browser, then sign back in with only the personal account that owns the Vault.
    4. Temporarily disable any VPN, ad blocker, security extension, or content blocker. If possible, test another network.
    5. Clear cookies and website data for live.com, microsoft.com, and onedrive.live.com, then restart the browser.

If the issue continues, create a new macOS user profile and test Personal Vault there. This helps determine whether cached data or settings in the current Mac profile are causing the problem.

Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps, and I'll be glad to continue looking into it with you.
