So, for some reason my laptop suddenly is asking for a recovery key for the bit locker. In the display it says that i have to get my key through the site aka.ms/myrecoverykey

My problem is that when I log in into the site it keeps looping between the log in and authentication pages and never truly enters the aite where they tell me my key. Im a little scared because I have work I haven't backed up and it doesn't seem like I would be able to solve this by myself

I will attach proof of whats happening, thanks for reading me!

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Do you have any VPN turned on?

If so, temporarily disable any active VPN connection, then open an incognito or private browsing window in your web browser, and go to the https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey link to locate your BitLocker recovery key.

If you are still having issues, connect your device to another Wi-Fi network, such as a mobile hotspot network, and then see if you can view the BitLocker Recovery key.

Let me know if you still need more help.

I'm having the same problem. The link is broken under the 'my device' section in my MS account, as well as the recovery key link that bit locker directs you to. I'm completely frozen out of my laptop, can anyone help?

    Hi Emma,

    You can go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/device-list

And then choose the device which needs recovery keys and select the device, and make sure the device object matches with the one which is shown in your above blue screen, and then click 'view keys' and simply insert the keys. Then click continue. This will work for you.

    recovery keys

Please let me know if this helps.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Ramesh
