Lost access to a hotmail account and the automated system just loops me around and I never gain access back. The old phone number is no longer available.

why is it so difficult to reach out to Microsoft to speak to a customer service representative (real person) that can assist me? The automated system is not working for me.

    Hi,

Account recovery is designed to be fully automated. Even if you contact Microsoft Support, they will likely advise you to complete the account recovery form, as they cannot manually recover or restore access to your account.

If you have already used the account recovery form and received a reply stating that the information provided was insufficient, you will need to fill out the form again with any new information you remember. Please note that you can submit the form up to two times per day until you recover your account.

    Helpful Tips:

    ● Include contacts, subject lines of past emails, or any services you used (like Skype or Xbox).

    ● Complete the form using a device and location you’ve previously used to sign in.

    ● The more accurate info you provide, the better your chances of success.

If you're still unsuccessful after several attempts, please refer to the 'Account recovery unsuccessful' page.
