Email reply/compose closes after a period of time and moves to Drafts

I've moved over to the New Outlook, but still not convinced I made the right choice!

One thing that's really bothering me is if I click reply to an email or even compose a new mail (and not send) and leave it open for a while, I find that it will just close the pop up mail and move it into Drafts. I then have to go in to the Drafts folder to find it. In classic Outlook it would leave all of these windows open, and even when I shut it down and re-opened the app it would also load up all of the pop ups I had left open in my previous instance.

Is there any way to ensure that all pop up mails are left open at all times?

    Hi Greg C,

To determine whether this is a product limitation, client issue, or account-specific behavior, please gather the following information:

    1. Does the compose window close while actively typing, or only after being idle?
    2. Approximately how long does it take before the window closes?
    3. Does the same behavior occur in Outlook on the Web (OWA)?
    4. Is the draft successfully saved in the Drafts folder when the window closes?
    5. What version of New Outlook is installed?
    6. Does the issue occur with the attached compose form or also with new compose window?

    Thank you for your information.
