My pc is asking me to sign in with my existing password and create a new one. I can’t remember as this unit is many years old. I can’t bypass it and have reset my windows password but it’s still not accepting it. Can anyone help me please. I just turned it on today and unsure what has changed or happened.

If neither of the above works for you, then because this is a Microsoft Forum it is against the Code of Conduct for us to provide a method to bypass a Windows Password, I hope you understand.
The options you then have is to Reset Windows, or clean install Windows from a bootable USB

I’ve since discovered it’s doing the same thing on my Xbox. Do you know why it could be doing this? It’s so frustrating because I can access any of these devices

Yes I can log in via that link. When I log in via the PC, it doesn’t recognise my password (which is correct) it promos ‘your username or password is incorrect’
If you are using a WiFi connection on the PC< the best option may be to connect to the Internet using a wired Ethernet connection to ensure the Internet connection is active on the login screen to check if you can then login to Windows on your PC.

If you are unable to resolve the password problem, you will need to reset Windows on that device, do you have files on that PC that you need to keep?

If there are no files you need to keep, these are the steps to reset Windows, please note, this process will delete all your apps and reinstall Windows.
Click the power icon on the login screen.
Press and hold the Shift Key while you click Restart
Your PC will boot into the Windows Recovery Environment
Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Reset this PC
Choose to keep nothing
Then start the Reset
