Old iPhone device still shown in Teams contacts sync list.

Question

Teams Personal account → People tab → Already synced → old device "iPhone SE" remains listed although the device no longer exists and is not present in Microsoft Devices. I cannot delete the old contacts.

Reply with only these details:

• Are you using Teams Free on iOS, Windows, Mac, or web?
• Does Settings > People > Sync contacts > Manage show a Remove or Stop sync option for the old iPhone?
• Are the stuck contacts from the old iPhone contact list, Outlook contacts, or both?

Please try these steps:

1) Turn off contact sync from the Teams mobile app 

If the account is still signed in on any iPhone, open Teams Free on mobile, then go to Profile picture > Settings > People and turn Sync my device contacts off.

2) Check the Teams Free sync source from desktop or web 

In Teams Free, go to Settings > People > Sync contacts > Manage. If the old iPhone SE or another old sync source appears there, remove it or stop sync if that option is available. 

3) Remove old contacts from the People tab after sync is turned off 

Go to People > All Contacts, open More options next to the affected contact, then choose Delete. Microsoft’s Teams Free contact management article lists Delete under More options for contacts in the People tab.

4) Check whether the contacts are coming from another synced source 

In Settings > People > Sync contacts > Manage, check whether Outlook or another source is also synced.

5) Review Teams Free privacy settings 

In Teams Free, go to Settings > Privacy and review how people can find you.

6) Contact Teams Free support if the old device still remains 

If the old device still appears after contact sync is turned off, use the Teams Free support path. Include that the old device is no longer listed under Microsoft Devices but still appears under Teams Free > People > Already synced.
