Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hi Tatiana Moldova,
I understand how concerning this is, especially since your original email address is no longer recognized and the passkey prompt shows an unfamiliar address.
This is a public user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access the account, identify the unfamiliar address, or reverse changes to the account. The information shown during the passkey attempt may indicate that the account’s sign-in alias was changed without your permission.
First, use the Microsoft hacked-account recovery process and select Start. Enter your original email address and follow the options for a compromised account. The Sign-in Helper will display the recovery options available and may provide an opportunity to speak with an agent.
You can also contact Microsoft Support as follows:
- Visit the Microsoft Support contact page: Contact - Microsoft Support
- In the search bar provided on the page, type "Account Recovery" and press Enter.
- Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.
- Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.
- When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".
- For the category, choose "Manage Account Security".
- Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".
- When prompted, provide a valid contact email where Microsoft can reach you regarding your case.
- Explain your situation clearly: Be concise but provide all the relevant details.
Please be advised that support must still verify account ownership and cannot manually change account details or send password-reset links. Meanwhile, secure the email account you can still access by changing its password, reviewing its security information, and enabling two-step verification. Do not post the unfamiliar address, receipts, order numbers, passwords, recovery codes, or other personal information in this public thread.
I hope the Sign-in Helper or support team can identify the recovery path available for the account.
