I am unable to sign in to my personal Microsoft Teams account using the Microsoft Teams desktop application on my Windows PC.

The account works without any issues in the Teams web app, but the desktop application displays the following error:

"Personal accounts are not yet supported in Teams."

This issue started yesterday. Before that, my personal account was working normally in the Teams desktop application.

Troubleshooting steps already performed:

  • Cleared the Microsoft Teams cache.
  • Removed Microsoft Teams and Microsoft account credentials from Windows Credential Manager.
  • Repaired the Teams application.
  • Reset the Teams application.
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of Microsoft Teams.
  • Restarted the computer after reinstalling.

Despite performing all of the above steps, the issue still persists. Since my personal account works correctly in the web version, the problem appears to be specific to the Teams desktop application.

Please help me identify the cause and provide a solution to restore access to my personal Microsoft Teams account in the desktop application.
