To limit access to a sub-folder in SharePoint Online, you need to break permission inheritance from the parent library or folder, remove any unwanted users or groups, and then grant permissions only to the specific group or individuals who should have access.

Start by opening the document library, locating the sub-folder, clicking the three dots (...) next to it, and selecting Manage Access. In the access panel, click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Advanced settings to open the classic permissions management page.

Next, select Stop Inheriting Permissions from the top ribbon. This breaks the connection between the folder and its parent permissions, allowing you to manage access to that folder independently.

After inheritance is stopped, select the groups or users that should no longer have access and choose Remove User Permissions. Then select Grant Permissions to add the specific group of users who should be allowed to access the folder.

Or selecting a group and change their permissions. (If you remove a user's permissions, that user is prohibited from accessing the folder.)
