I have had a MSN dial up account for many years and no longer need the account but I am charged the monthly fee. It has been so long since I opened the account I no longer have the information (MSN subscription email, telephone number, etc) to close the account. Does anyone have the appropriate ID and contact information to close the account. Thanks

Hi. I'm Brian and I'll try to help.

You should simply be able to cancel the automatic renewal so that the next time renewal comes up, it won't happen and your Microsoft account should simply revert to the free account. If your storage limit exceed the free limits (15GB for email storage and 5GB for OneDrive storage), you'll have to download your data locally in order to preserve it, but otherwise, nothing needs to change. You may start seeing ads when presented with your mailbox view if you use a web browser to access the mailbox, but I don't consider that a big deal. Your @msn.com address should continue to work as before. Of course, you'll need to be able to log in in order to actually delete the account and close the address, if that's what you intend. You can also simply cancel the card you used or get a new number for it issued and your account will automatically close if Microsoft has nothing to charge.
